Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central States Governors’ Forum (NCSGF), Abubakar Sani Bello has enjoined Muslims to sustain the ideals of the month of Ramadan beyond the Holy Month.
The Governor, in a statement urged Muslims to remain steadfast in the worship of Allah and to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as they did during the holy month of Ramadan.
He tasked Muslims to continue to uphold the ideals of piety, patience, tolerance, perseverance, humility and self denial which were observed vigorously during the month of Ramadan.
The governor stated,” Ed-El-Fitr celebration should be seen by all as another opportunity to remain devoted and submissive to the will of the Almighty Allah.
“The end of Ramadan should not mean an end to the virtues of benevolence, good neighborliness and tolerance which, in the last one month, characterized Muslims’ private and public life”.
He urged the followers of all religions to tolerate one another and assist the less privileged in the society as the surest way of reducing poverty and the attendant consequences that comes with it.
Bello also called on all Nigerians to reflect and use the period to pray to Allah to provide a lasting solution to the myriad of challenges facing the nation.
He called on Nigerlites to give their unflinching support to the incoming government to enable it consolidate on the gains recorded by the outgoing administration.
Similarly, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ogundele J. Ayodeji, in a statement felicitateinhg with Nigerlites and Muslim Faithfuls on the Eid-el-fitr celebration urged the followers to abide by its symbolism which connotes holiness, perseverance, tolerance and love.
Ayodeji disclosed that the Command has mobilised its operational assets and emplaced high visibility policing, stop and- search operations with show of strength in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a tight security arrangement before, during and after the festive season.
He stated that in addition to sufficient deployment of Police personnel and anti-riot equipment to Eid-el praying grounds, recreation centers, amusement parks and other public places within the State.
Consequently, he said Operation Order has been drawn to this effect and issued to HODs, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs to ensure full compliance towards deployment for an apparent visibility policing during the festive period.
