There is a heavy presence of security agents at the Ogun State House of Assembly as the tenth Assembly inauguration holds today.
Police and civil defence officers were heavily deployed to strategic locations of the assembly complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The 26 members-elect and other invited guests are already seated at the hallowed chamber of the Assembly for the all-important.
It was observed that security operatives were deployed to the premises to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order as members elect a new Speaker today.
DAILY POST reports that the immediate past Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, is having a tough battle with Oludaisi Elemide, who stepped down for him in 2019.
This time, Elemide had refused to repeat what he did in 2019, insisting that he would contest the seat with Oluomo.
To emerge as the Speaker of the Ogun Assembly, a contestant needs at least 14 votes out of 26.
