Comrade Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has lauded the panel of justices of the Court of Appeal following the delivery of judgement in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Friday.
He said the reinstatement of the Osun people’s mandate after the judgement of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal was upturned speaks of hope in the nation’s judiciary as the temple of remedy for the common man.
In a statement he issued in Abuja on Saturday, Frank called on Adeleke to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the State is taken out of backwardness to the limelight, particularly that all forms of distraction have been put behind.
The courage of the Lord Justices to uphold the truth, he said, should be seen in other justices handling election petition cases in the interest of the nation.
Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, urged the judiciary to know that in areas where they have done well, Nigerians and the world will hail them, but when they do wrong, Nigerians will call them out.
He said: “We hope the Judiciary will bring this courage to bare in doing the needful in deciding the Presidential election petition cases now before them.
“The Judiciary must realise that the only hope Nigerians have today is in them. We hope they will not dash that hope.”
Timi, in the statement, envisaged that there would be pressure from politicians and powers that be to do the wrong things, but judges have opportunities to stick to the truth in taking decisions.
